When Ryan Matthew began to teach himself how to play guitar, he never expected to make a career out of it. Yet here he is now, performing for thousands as one of the future stars of Country.

Ryan Matthew, a native of Altoona, PA, picked up a Takamine acoustic guitar while attending the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown. He soon found himself performing one half of the two-piece Marmalade with Lori Selders. The duo found fame in the local bars and as the opening act for Weird Al Yankovich and Matthew even found himself on stage in Pittsburgh with Hootie & The Blowfish.

Matthew returned home in 1998 and soldiered on as a solo performer. He cut his chops in the local circuit in order to hone his sound. During that time, he also mastered over 300 cover songs for his loving audience. He has also opened for Foreigner, Eddie Money, Night Ranger, the Clarks, Brownie Mary and Lonestar.

Matthew released his debut album in 2008. Driving Home, produced by Mike Gambardalla, is a collection of upbeat, acoustic tracks that fans of Kenny Chesney, Darius Rucker, Sister Hazel, Toby Keith and Tim McGraw will love. His songs are simple tales of living life to the fullest, paying tribute to the troops, having good times at the beach and picking up on girls. Or, as his producer puts it, “beer, girls and beaches.” His song “Steeler Fan” is a hit and is in rotation in various radio stations across Pennsylvania.  You can also find Ryan on internet radio station Jango.com.  Ryan's full schedule is found on the Tour Schedule page.  You can catch Ryan's live show every month at the U.S. Hotel in Hollidaysburg, Pa.

Ryan Matthew is already hard at work on his next album.
